Telescopic Columns

Linear actuators fitted within a telescopic columns are ideal for many applications including height adjustable tables and medial applications. The actuators are used to adjust the height of the equipment to put the operators in a better position to work. There are may cases of back strain being caused by bending over and operating equipment, the telescopic column can overcome this problem by raising the equipment to the optimum operating height for the operator. The column is made up of a number of aluminium sections which, when mounted together slide within each other to provide a telescopic function. One of the greatest problems to overcome is that of contact between the metal sections, which can cause wear. The is overcome by fitting the top and bottom of each section with a linear bearing manufactured from a hard plastic. The idea being the linear bearing make up the gape between the sections. These guides are also designed to be adjusted so that the gap between the two sections can be finely controlled. Once the gliders or linear guides have been assembled into the telescopic column they can be adjusted with a small screw driver to remove any play from the system. This then gives a clean and precise movement. In addition to the telescopic operation the columns have the capability to cope with large overhung loads, this enable the unit to be used in many applications where the load is offset.
